On Friday night, June 18, 1971 with her breakthrough Tapestry album and the double barreled single, "It's Too Late/" I feel the Earth Move" on top of the Billboard charts, Carole King walked along on to the Carnegie Hall stage to begin her first concert at the venerated venue, with James Taylor as her special "Surprise" guest.
